# Your own fonts

> Upload the typefaces you hold a licence for, so every file in your workspace draws in them for everyone who opens it.

Source: https://uxdeck.app/guide/fonts (checked against uxdeck on 16 October 2026)

uxdeck comes with a set of popular web fonts, and Inter is the default. When your brand uses its own typeface, upload it to your workspace: every file in that workspace then draws in it, on any computer, for everyone who opens the file, and published sites carry it too.

You can also pick a font installed on your computer, but only you see it. Uploading is how everyone else sees it.

## Upload fonts

1. Open **Settings**, then **Fonts** under **Workspace**.
2. Press **Upload fonts**, or drop the files on the list.
3. Check each file's **Family**, **Weight** and **Italic**. uxdeck reads them from the file; correct anything it got wrong.
4. Tick **I hold a licence for these fonts that allows using them on the web.**
5. Press **Upload font** (or **Upload 4 fonts**, and so on).

Files can be WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF, up to 2 MB each, and up to 24 in one upload: enough for a family's whole set, italics included.

The list shows each family written in its own face, with its weights. **Remove** takes a family or one face away, after asking.

## Use them

Open the font menu in the **Typography** section. Uploaded families are tagged **Workspace**, and the filter at the top has a **Workspace** entry listing only them. Pick one like any other font.

## Fonts on your computer

In Chrome and Edge on a computer, the font menu offers **Use the fonts on this computer**. The browser asks your permission, then reads every installed font, which can take half a minute. They appear under **On this computer**; **Look for new fonts** reads them again after you install one.

A font from your computer stays on your computer. Anyone else opening the file, and anyone visiting an export, sees a stand-in unless they have it installed too.

## When a font is missing

With nothing selected, the Design tab shows a **Fonts** card when the file uses fonts not everyone can see:

- **Not on this device:** the text is shown in a stand-in, sized like the font where uxdeck knows its measurements.
- **Only on this computer:** others see a stand-in until it is in the workspace.

If you can manage the workspace's fonts, each one has **Add from this computer** (when it is installed here, in Chrome or Edge) and **Upload…**. Either adds it to the workspace, and everyone sees it at once. The same note shows under a selected text's font, and the [Publish](/guide/publish) dialog lists missing fonts under **Typefaces** before a site goes live.

## Who can upload

In your Personal workspace, you. In a [team](/guide/teams), the owner or an admin: other members see the team's fonts but cannot upload or remove them.

## What each plan allows

| What | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Font families per workspace | 3 | 30 |

A team's fonts count against its owner's plan. When the workspace is full, the upload button is off until you remove a family.

## Catches

- **Upload only fonts you hold a web licence for.** Many desktop licences do not cover the web.
- **A font collection file** (several fonts in one file) cannot be read. Upload the separate .otf, .ttf or .woff files.
- **Only workspace fonts travel.** A published site and a downloaded site include your workspace's fonts. A font that is only on your computer is left out (a downloaded site says where to put its files); upload it and export again.
- **Fonts belong to a workspace, not a file.** A file in another workspace draws in that workspace's fonts.
