A team is a shared space for files. Everyone in it sees the team's files on Home, with a role that decides what they can do. Use a team when a group works on the same files over time, rather than sharing files one by one.

Creating a team is on Pro. Anyone can join one, on any plan.

## Create a team

1. On Home, open the workspace switcher at the top and choose **Add team**.
2. Give it a **Name**, and if you like a **Description**, a logo and people to invite.
3. Press **Create team**.

The switcher now lists **Personal** (your own files) and your teams. Pick one to see its files.

## Roles

| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| **Owner** | Everything, including deleting the team and handing it over. One per team. |
| **Admin** | Remove people, answer requests to join, change the team's settings. |
| **Can edit** | Make and edit files in the team. |
| **Can view** | Open, look and comment. |

Anyone in the team can invite others at their own role or below.

Owners, admins and editors each hold a seat in the team. Viewers are free. A team holds up to 200 members, and its owner has up to 10 seats across their own files and all the teams they own. See [Seats and editors](/guide/seats).

## Invite people

Open the team's menu and choose **Share team…**, or **Invite to {team}** from the workspace switcher. Type email addresses and send, or copy the **Invite link**. Invitations last 30 days.

In the members list, an owner or admin can change someone's role or choose **Remove from team…**; the owner can also choose **Make owner…**. A person removed loses the team's files at once; the files they made stay in the team and become the owner's.

## Files in a team

- **Move a file in:** in the file's menu on Home, choose **Move to team** and pick the team.
- **Move a file out:** **Move to my files** (or **Move to its owner's files**).
- Files moved to the team's trash wait there for 30 days for anyone in the team to restore, then go for good.
- The team's files can be sorted into folders with **New folder**.

## Team settings

Open the team's menu and choose **Team settings…**, or **Settings** from the switcher. The **Workspace** group has four tabs:

- **General:** logo, **Team name**, description, and the permissions:
  - **Invite links:** whether people in the team can share a link that joins others. Off by default.
  - **Default role for new members:** **Editor** or **Viewer**, for people who join by link.
  - **Team access:** **Anyone who's invited**, or only people at your email domain.
  - **File access:** **Anyone with the link**, or **Only people in the team**.
  - **File transfers:** whether files can be moved out of the team.
  - **Agent:** whether the agent, AI tools and Ask AI to fix work on the team's files.
- **Members:** who is in the team and their roles.
- **Agent credits:** the team's shared pool. See [Agent credits](/guide/agent-credits).
- **Fonts:** typefaces uploaded once and drawn in every file of the team.

## Leave or delete a team

Anyone but the owner can choose **Leave team…**. The files they made stay with the team.

The owner can delete the team from **General**. Everyone loses the team and its folders at once. The files are kept out of sight, and come back if you restore the team within 28 days. After that each file goes to its owner's trash.

## What a team gives everyone in it

Teammates can add video and talk in [voice](/guide/voice) in the team's files, whatever their own plan.

## Catches

- **The team follows its owner's plan.** If the owner leaves Pro, the team turns read-only: everyone acts as a viewer until the plan is back. Nothing is deleted. See [If your plan ends](/guide/plan-ends).
- **You cannot delete your account while you own a team others are in.** Hand it over or delete it first.
- **Moving a file into a team changes who can open it.** The team's **File access** setting applies from then on.
