Prototypes that behave like a site Linked, animated, and remembering what you did.
Drag from a button to a screen and the prototype has its first link. Choose what starts it and how the screens change, add overlays and flows, and let variables remember what people did. Then present it in a phone or a browser, or open it on a real phone.
More than links
Triggers for everything people do: a click or a tap, a drag that the next screen follows, hovering, pressing, a key, the pointer coming in or going out, a delay, or a video reaching a moment.
Nine ways to change screen: Instant, Dissolve, Match layers, Move in, Move out, Push, Slide in, Slide out and Curtain, each with its own easing and duration.
Variables and conditions: a click counts, a toggle remembers, a mode switches the theme, and a Conditional does one thing or another. Your published site plays them too.
Overlays
Sheets, menus and dialogs that open over the screen, placed where you choose.
Flows
Name the journeys through the file, each with its own link to play.
Components
A toggle or a tab that changes its own variant when clicked.
Every width
Responsive Preview switches breakpoints as you resize the window.
Seen in a file
Recordings of uxdeck prototypes, set up and played.
Link. Drag the ring from a button onto a screen and the link is made.
Match layers. A card grows into the next screen’s header while the rest fades.
Overlays. A filter sheet rises from the bottom over a dimmed screen.
Variables. Three clicks on Add to basket take its badge from 0 to 3.
Interactive components. A toggle that flips between its variants on click.
Hover. A card that grows a little while the pointer is on it.
Flows. Name a journey, Sign up, and a flag marks where it starts.
Present. Choose the device and the background, then play.
On a phone. Play a prototype on your phone; a two-finger hold opens its menu.
Good to know
Prototyping is the same on Free and Pro, with one limit.
- 01
Modes
Switching a variable mode needs a collection with two modes or more: one per collection on Free, 10 on Pro.
- 02
Sharing
Copy a flow’s link and anyone you share the file with can play it.
- 03
Reduced motion
Preview shows the page as people who ask for less motion see it, at a click.
Learn it step by step
How each part works, in the Guide, with recordings of uxdeck as it is today.
- Link screens and PreviewLink one screen to another with a drag, then play your prototype in Preview, in a tab beside your file.
- InteractionsChoose what starts an interaction and what it does, from going to another screen to playing a video, and chain several actions.
- OverlaysOpen a frame on top of the current screen as a dialog, a menu or a tooltip, and choose where it sits and what closes it.
- Screen animations and easingChoose how one screen turns into the next, from a dissolve to a curtain, and set the curve and duration of any animation.
- Variables and conditionsMake a prototype remember: count items, switch a setting on, change to Dark mode, and do one thing or another depending on a value.
- Present in a deviceShow your prototype inside a phone, tablet or browser mockup, choose the colour around it, and play it full screen on a phone.
