Bring your work in. Open a Figma file with its pages, components and variables. Nothing to install.
Oriel.fig holds more than one file keeps
A file keeps up to 15 MB of layers. Choose the pages to bring in now; the others can come in later as another file.

The dialog uxdeck shows for a large Figma file, drawn here with an example file. Tick pages and watch what fits.
Your design already lives somewhere. uxdeck reads it as it is: a .fig saved from Figma, a .uxd copy of a uxdeck file, the SVG and pictures you drop or paste, the typefaces your brand is set in. It lands in your account as a file you can design on, prototype and publish.
A Figma file in three steps
It works from a file saved to your computer, so you need nothing installed in Figma.
- 01
Save a local copy
In Figma, open the file and choose File, then Save local copy. A .fig lands on your computer.
- 02
Drop it on Home
Or press Open a file. It is read and uploaded in the Uploads tray, with its progress, while you keep working.
- 03
Open it
A toast says what came in, such as "Brand site from Figma: 4 pages, 1,280 layers, 36 components, 52 variables".
What comes over
The parts of a design file that take longest to rebuild, kept as working parts rather than flattened pictures.
Pages, sections and frames
Every page you bring in, with its sections and frames where they were.
Auto layout
Rows, columns and wrapping, with gaps and padding, negative spacing and the gap between wrapped rows.
Components and variants
Main components, variant sets and their instances, with their properties. Components from a library the file used are placed on a page called Imported components.
Variables and modes
Collections with their modes, and colour styles as variables in a collection called Color styles.
Text and effect styles
Kept as styles, so changing one changes every layer that follows it.
Prototype
Interactions and flows, ready to play in Preview.
Big files, your choice of pages
A real design file holds more than screens. When one holds more than a uxdeck file keeps, uxdeck asks which pages to bring in before anything is sent, with each page’s size and the total against what fits.
Your product’s pages start ticked; drafts and component pages start last. A page bigger than a whole file says so and cannot be ticked. The rest can come in later, as another file, from the same .fig.
Covers, boards of components and typography sheets are left off the site to start, so publishing shows your screens. Change it in Deck settings, Site, Pages.
16 MB of layers
What one file stores. Pictures are counted apart, up to 250 MB a file.
50,000 layers
And 200 pages in one file.
In the background
Home stays usable while a file is read and uploaded.
On every plan
Free and Pro both import. A new file counts towards your plan’s files.
Paste from Figma, coming soon
Copy a selection with the uxdeck plugin for Figma and paste it on the canvas with ⌘V: auto layout, components and their variants, variables, text and effect styles, pictures and prototype links come with it, and components already on the page are reused rather than copied again.
The plugin is not on Figma Community yet. Until it is, bring a design across with its .fig. Layers copied in Figma without the plugin cannot be pasted: uxdeck says so and suggests Copy as SVG for shapes alone.
Everything else, by drop or paste
Not everything starts in a design file. Drop it on the canvas or paste it, and it arrives as something you can edit.
SVG
Pastes or drops as editable vector layers in a frame. Several SVG files line up side by side.
Pictures
PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP and AVIF as they are; other formats redrawn as PNG. Big photos are kept at up to 2,880 px.
Video
MP4, WebM or MOV up to 50 MB, as a layer or a fill. Adding video is on Pro.
Text and colours
Plain text pastes as a text layer; a colour code pastes into a picked fill.
Your typefaces, for everyone
Upload the fonts you hold a web licence for, WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF, up to 24 at once. Every file in the workspace draws in them, for everyone who opens it, and published sites carry them.
A file that uses a font you have not added yet shows it in a stand-in, sized like the font where uxdeck knows its measurements. The Fonts card names it, with Add from this computer when it is installed here.
Free
3 font families per workspace.
Pro
30 font families per workspace.
.uxd, a copy that travels
Your files live in your uxdeck account. A .uxd is a copy on your own computer, to keep a backup, send a file outside your team or move it between accounts. Save a local copy with ⇧⌘S gathers its pictures and videos, so it opens anywhere.
Drop one or several on Home to bring them back. Opening a .uxd always makes a new file; it never replaces the one you have. Once uxdeck is installed as an app, a double-click opens it, in Chrome and Edge.

A missing font, added. The Fonts card names a font only you have, and adds it to the workspace.
Upload a family. Drop the files, check each family and weight, tick the licence box.
Place pictures. Choose several and draw a box for each, one at a time.
Video as a fill. A frame filled with a clip that plays once in Preview.
Paste into many. Select several frames and paste: a copy lands in each.
Save a .uxd. ⇧⌘S, and the copy is in your downloads.
Good to know
What does not come over yet, so you find out here rather than halfway through.
- 01
Not carried yet
Layout grid styles, video fills and video actions from a Figma file.
- 02
Modes follow your plan
On Free a variable collection keeps its first mode; Pro keeps up to 10.
- 03
Files count
An imported file is a new file: Free holds 3 of your own, Pro has no limit.
- 04
Damaged files
A .fig that is very large or damaged may not open, and uxdeck says so.
Learn it step by step
How each part works, in the Guide, with recordings of uxdeck as it is today.
- Import a Figma fileBring a whole Figma file into uxdeck from a .fig saved to your computer, with its pages, components, variables and prototype.
- .uxd files and uploadsSave a copy of a file to your computer as a .uxd, and bring .uxd files back into your account from Home.
- Your own fontsUpload the typefaces you hold a licence for, so every file in your workspace draws in them for everyone who opens it.
- Images and videoPlace pictures and videos, crop and adjust them, fill any shape with one, and set how videos play.
- Copy, paste and duplicateCopy layers between frames, pages and files, paste them exactly where you want, and duplicate with a keystroke.
- Large files and limitsHow big a file, a picture, a video and a published site can be, and what to do when a file gets close to the edge.
