Comments

Leave comments on the canvas or on a layer, reply, mention people, resolve threads and ask AI to fix what a thread asks for.

Comments let people talk about the design where it is. A comment sits on a spot on the canvas or on a layer, and it moves with that layer. Everyone with access to the file can comment, viewers included.

Use comments for feedback that needs an answer or a record. For a passing remark, use cursor chat.

Leave a comment

  1. Press C, or the comment button in the toolbar.
  2. Click anywhere on the canvas, or press Enter. On a layer, the comment says Comment on {layer}… and sticks to it.
  3. Type, then press Enter to post. ShiftEnter starts a new line.
Press C, click a layer, type and press Enter; the pin stays with the layer when it moves.

In a comment you can:

  • Mention someone with @. They get a notification. Up to 20 mentions per comment.
  • Add pictures: up to 5 per comment, with the picture button.
  • Add an emoji from the emoji button.

A comment can be up to 5,000 characters.

Reply, edit, resolve

Open a pin to see its thread. Then you can:

  • reply in the Reply field;
  • edit or delete your own comments (deleting asks first, and removes it for everyone);
  • press Resolve when it is dealt with, and Reopen to bring it back.

Resolved threads are hidden from the canvas. Turn on Show resolved in the comment bar to see them.

The comments list

All threads are listed in Review, Comments on the right (viewers have a Comments tab of their own). Use Search to find words, and the menu to sort or filter:

  • Sort by date or Sort by unread;
  • Show resolved comments;
  • Only your threads, Only current page, Only threads naming you.

From each thread’s menu: Mark as read or Mark as unread, and Mark as resolved.

Ask AI to fix this

On a thread, press Ask AI to fix this (the sparkle). uxdeck AI changes the comment’s screen to do what the thread asks, then replies in the thread with what it changed. A version is kept first, and Undo AI changes on its reply takes the changes back while keeping later edits by anyone.

It uses your agent credits, and you must be signed in and able to edit the file. A team can turn it off for its files.

Catches

  • Comments need a connection. Offline, the bar says so and the post button waits until you are back.
  • A deleted layer leaves its comments behind. The thread says The layer this was on has been deleted.
  • Limits per file: 2,000 threads, and 500 comments in one thread.
