Work together
See who is in a file, follow someone's view, and say something quickly beside your pointer with cursor chat.

When other people open the same file, you see them: their faces in the top bar, their cursors with their names, and an outline around whatever they have selected. Everything they change appears as they make it. There is nothing to save or refresh.
Cursor chat is for a quick remark while you work side by side: a line of text that rides on your pointer and disappears a few seconds later.
Who is here
The faces in the top bar are the people in the file right now. Hover over a face to open a card with what they are doing (Here, In voice, Following you) and what you can do with them.
Cursors and selection outlines show for people on the same page as you. Someone on another page is still in the top bar.
Follow someone
- Hover over their face in the top bar.
- Press Follow.
Your view now moves with theirs, and a Following {name} pill sits in the top bar. To stop, select something, touch the canvas, press the pill, or press Stop following on their card.
Cursor chat
- With the pointer over the canvas, press /, or right-click the canvas and choose Cursor chat.
- Type. Everyone in the file watches the line appear beside your pointer as you write.
- Stop typing and it fades away after five seconds.
A line holds up to 52 characters. Close it early with Esc or a click.
Working on the same thing
- Two people can type in the same text at once and both keep their words.
- Undo only takes back your own changes, never a collaborator’s.
The status in the top bar
If something is wrong with the connection, a status shows beside the faces:

| Offline, edits are kept and sent when you reconnect | You can keep working. Your changes wait and go out when you are back. |
| Sign in to keep working with others | Your session ended. Sign in again. |
| No access to this file | The owner removed you, or the link changed. |
Catches
- Cursor chat is never saved. Nobody can scroll back to it. For anything that needs an answer, leave a comment.
- The slash only works over the canvas. In a text field it types a slash.
- Cursors are per page. If you cannot see someone’s cursor, check which page they are on.
