Work together
Read and answer comments, mentions and requests from the bell, and choose what reaches you by email and on your devices.
Checked against uxdeck on 16 October 2026
The bell gathers what happens in your files while you are elsewhere: comments, mentions, replies, requests to open or edit, invitations, and news about your teams and sites. You can answer most of it from the bell itself, without opening the file.
Your choices for what reaches you live in Settings, Profile, Notifications.
The bell
Press the bell to open your notifications. A number on it counts what you have not read. There are three tabs:
- All: everything, newest first.
- Unread: only what you have not read yet.
- Requests: people asking to open or edit your files, and invitations waiting for you.
Mark all as read clears the count. Press a notification to open the file at the right spot. For a comment you can read the thread and reply from the bell. For a request you can say yes or decline there too.
What you will find there includes:
- Commented, Mentioned you, Replied to you, Resolved a thread;
- Asked to open, Asked to edit, and the answers to your own requests;
- Invited you to view or Invited you to edit, Made you the owner, Made you an editor;
- Missed call;
- team news, such as a team using 80% or all of its agent credits this month;
- Your site was taken down and Your site is back online.
Choose what reaches you
In Settings, Profile, Notifications:
| Setting | Choices | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Comments | All, Mentions, None | All: every comment on a file you are in. Mentions: only when somebody names you or replies to you. |
| Requests | All, To answer, None | All: requests on your files and owners saying yes to you. To answer: only requests waiting for you. |
| Notifications on this device | On or off | Shows the comments and requests chosen above, and files the agent finished, as notifications on this device. Send a test checks it works. |
| Email me as well | On or off | Requests are emailed straight away and mentions within a few minutes. Ordinary comments arrive as one email per file, every half hour. |
Notifications on this device are set per browser, so turn it on on each computer and phone you use.
On an iPhone or iPad
Device notifications only work from uxdeck added to your Home Screen. In Safari, press Share, then Add to Home Screen, open uxdeck from there and turn the setting on. See uxdeck on your phone.
Catches
- Email stops when both are None. With comments and requests both set to None, Email me as well turns itself off.
- Blocked in the browser? If you once refused notifications for uxdeck, the switch cannot turn on. Allow notifications in the browser’s site settings first.
- Call notifications are elsewhere. They belong to the browser, so they are under Settings, Voice. See Voice calls.
