Account and plans
What happens to your files, sites and teams when you go from Pro back to Free, how to choose what stays, and how to get it all back.
Checked against uxdeck on 16 October 2026
When Pro ends, nothing is deleted. You have 14 days with everything exactly as it was. In that time you choose which files stay editable and which site stays online on Free. After the 14 days, the rest turns read-only or goes offline, and comes straight back if you return to Pro.
The 14 days
If you have more than 3 files of your own or more than one site online when you are back on Free, a banner on Home reads You are on Free. with the date your choice must be made by. Until then, every file stays editable, every site stays online and your teams keep working. uxdeck also emails you a reminder three days before the date. Within Free’s limits already, there is nothing to choose.
Choose what stays
Press Choose on the banner (or the link in the email) to open Choose what stays on Free.
- Under Files that stay editable, tick up to 3 of your own files. The count shows how many you have picked, for example 2 of 3. Each file shows when it was last edited.
- Under Site that stays online, pick 1 of your published sites.
- Press Save.
You can change your choice at any time, during the 14 days or after: press Change on the banner.
If you do not choose, uxdeck keeps your 3 most recently edited files and your most recently published site.
After the 14 days
| Files | What happens |
|---|---|
| Files you kept | Stay editable, as before. |
| Your other files | Open read-only, for you and everyone you shared them with. Nobody can change them, but they can still be opened. The toolbar shows Read-only on Free; collaborators see Read-only for now. |
| The site you kept | Stays online at its uxdeck.site address, with its password. Its own domain stops working on Free. |
| Your other sites | Go offline and cannot be published again until you are back on Pro. |
| Teams you own | Turn read-only: everyone in them acts as a viewer. |
| Everything else | Free’s limits apply: agent credits, storage, export and so on. See Free and Pro. |
Nothing is deleted at any point.
Getting it back
Go back to Pro and the hold lifts: every file is editable again, your sites can be published again and your teams work as before. Anyone with a file open picks up the change on its own.
You can also press Upgrade to Pro from the Choose what stays on Free dialog.
Catches
- Team files do not count toward your 3. The choice is about your own files; teams follow the team owner’s plan.
- A read-only file can still be opened. People can look at it as before; nobody can edit it.
- Choosing is not deleting. Files you leave unticked are kept, read-only, for when you need them.
