Notices

Add a message that comes in at a corner or across the top of the window, closes in one press and stays away once closed.

Checked against uxdeck on 16 October 2026

Notices are messages pinned to the visitor’s window: news, a change of opening hours, an offer. Each comes in after a moment, closes with its Close button, its main button or the Esc key, and can stay closed for that visitor from then on. There are three: Notice, Banner and Promo notice.

Add one from Blocks in the toolbar (see Add and style Blocks), then select it to see its Notice section in the Design tab.

Pin it to the window

A notice is pinned to the window only when it sits straight inside a screen (a top-level frame). There, On the window shows a small grid: choose Top left, Top, Top right, Bottom left, Bottom or Bottom right. A notice that spans the window’s width, such as the Banner, chooses only Top or Bottom.

Anywhere else, deeper inside a frame, it stays where it is in the page. The section says so, and offers Move into followed by the screen’s name to put it where it can be pinned.

Select the notice and click a cell in On the window.

The settings

  • Comes in after (0 to 60 seconds): how long after the page opens it appears.
  • Stays: Until closed, 5 seconds, 10 seconds or 20 seconds. A notice that leaves on its own waits while the pointer or the keyboard is on it.
  • Closes with: its Close and Got it buttons, and Esc. Give a button a link in the Prototype tab to go somewhere as it closes.
  • Once closed, stays closed for that visitor: on your site it stays away for that visitor until its words change. Preview shows it every time, so you can test it.

Notice

A message that comes in at a corner of the window after a moment and stays away once closed. It has a line of text, a Got it button and a Close button.

It starts at the bottom right, coming in after 1 second.

A bar across the top of the window for news everyone should see, closed in one press.

It spans the window’s width and starts at the Top, there as soon as the page opens. Move it to the Bottom if it would cover your navigation.

Promo notice

An offer with a picture that comes in at a corner after a few seconds and stays away once closed. It has a picture, a heading, a line of text and a button, which closes it as well.

It starts at the bottom left, coming in after 3 seconds. Give its button a link to your offer in the Prototype tab.

In Preview, the Promo notice comes in after three seconds and its Close button sends it away.

Catches

  • Not a cookie consent. A notice does not stop tracking or analytics scripts; the section reminds you of this.
  • A notice needs its Close. Delete its close buttons and the section warns you that this part no longer works.
  • Deeper than a screen, it is not pinned. It scrolls away with the page. Use Move into to fix it.
  • Testing “stays closed”: Preview always shows it again. Check the real behaviour on your published site.
  • Keep it short. A notice covers part of the page; one sentence and one button is plenty.
